Wayne Liquid Crystal Shutter Display

The Wayne Liquid Crystal Shutter Display ("Windos") is a portable computer-controlled liquid crystal shutter which exposes selected areas (windows) of a transparency for direct viewing (near point) or projection (far point). It can open windows in programmed sequences or at random, for times ranging from 1/100 of a second to 10 seconds. The size of the windows ranges from 1/16 of the display area to the entire area.

The Wayne Liquid Crystal Shutter Display can be used to:

  • Test and train visual memory as a tachistoscope

  • Perform King Devick and Luster tests
  • Test and train:
    • Saccadic fixation
    • Rotary pursuit tracking
    • Anti-suppression

The Wayne Liquid Crystal Shutter can display over 50 patterns in more than 25 sequences. All activities are accurately timed. You can create and save user-defined programs and make your own training materials using marker pens, copiers, printers, etc.; no special materials or software are required.
