Speed-Trac

The Speed-Trac is a flexible track that uses 32 lights to simulate the motion of a target such as a baseball, tennis ball, or hockey puck. This allows the Wayne Saccadic Fixator to measure and train anticipation and speed estimation; the user activates the hand control (or, using the Infra-Red Sensor Beam, swings a bat, racquet or hand) when the light reaches a certain position on the Speed-Trac. The Fixator will then freeze the movement of the lights and display the reaction/anticipation time with an accuracy of one millisecond; the error in distance can be determined by observing which light remains on.
